FAQ's

I have an old Randall 102 Programmer that does not work can I upgrade easily to a Programmer that gives accurate on/off switching of my heating system.

Yes you can easily upgrade by purchasing a Danfoss Randall 102E7 electronic programmer. It will plug directly into the existing wall plate and provide more accurate on/off times and different times weekend if so needed.

I want to move my room thermostat to another room can you tell me how I can do this.

You can move your room thermostat by using a wireless thermostat.

The old thermostat is removed, the receiver unit, part of the new thermostat, is fitted in its place and then you can fit the wireless thermostat in another position or room. Some wireless thermostats even come with table stands so you could move the thermostat from room to room.

If you send details or a picture of your existing thermostat we can help with a recommended replacement.

I have thermostatic radiator valves fitted to my heating system but they are old and don’t seem to work. Can we get replacement sensor heads or do we have to replace the complete valve.

Depending on the type and model it is often possible to easily replace old sensor heads with the latest models. Our web site shows many available replacement sensor heads. If you can’t find the model on our site send us a picture or model number if know and we will try and identify the replacement model. Updating old sensor heads is an easy way of improving system efficiency and saving fuel cost.

I have an old Potterton Mini Minder programmer can I get a replacementunit.

The Mini Minder programmer is no longer manufactured but you can easily replace it with a Siemens RWB2E, which will give the same functions and more accurate switching.

How can I improve the efficiency and comfort levels of my central heating system.

One of the easiest ways is to replace old mechanical thermostats with the latest electronic thermostats that provide closer control of room temperature, every 1 degree you turn the temperature down saves around 10% OF FUEL COST. Modern thermostats are more accurate in maintaining the set temperature and so improve comfort levels as well as saving fuel costs.
